March 17.Arrival – New Delhi
Arrival in New Delhi via international flight. Meet-and-greet service by our Spanish-speaking representative. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay.
March 18.New Delhi
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Old Delhi; we will take an orientation tour of the area, passing by the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk street, and stop to visit Raj Ghat, the Gandhi memorial. This beautiful park houses a cenotaph—a black marble platform—marking the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated following his assassination. Pandit Nehru and Indira Gandhi were also cremated there. We will continue the tour by exploring New Delhi, including government buildings and India Gate—a 42-meter-high stone triumphal arch bearing the names of the 90,000 Indian Army soldiers who died during World War I. We will also enjoy a panoramic view of the Parliament area and the President’s residence.
Later, we will visit a Sikh temple: Gurdwara Bangla Sahib. Located in the Connaught Place area, it is the most important Sikh temple in Delhi. Thousands of people of all faiths visit this temple daily.
Finally, we will see the Qutub Minar, one of the oldest monuments of the first city of Delhi; its construction began in 1199. The complex is characterized by a blend of Hindu styles and Islamic elements. Its minaret is the tallest in the world, reaching a height of 72.5 meters and consisting of five tiers of decreasing diameter. At the base of the minaret stands the Alai Darwaza Gate, built of red and yellow brick, which once served as the entrance to the mosque. The tomb of Sultan Iltutmish and the mausoleum of Imam Zamin are also located here. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
March 19. Delhi / Agra: 210 km (4 hours)
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, depart by road for Agra. Today, we will visit the Red Fort, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. Construction began in 1565; the structure was designed as a walled palace complex surrounded by a deep water moat. Accessed via the imposing Amar Singh Gate, the fortress houses numerous palaces and grand buildings constructed by the Mughal Emperor Akbar, which served as a seat of Mughal power for successive rulers of the empire. Overnight stay.
March 20.Agra / Jaipur (240 km, 5 hours)
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World: the Taj Mahal (closed every Friday). This monument brought world fame to Agra and has become the symbol of India. The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1631 in honor of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal—the “Lady of the Taj”—who died while giving birth to their fourteenth child in 1629. Construction involved 20,000 people and was not completed until 1653. It stands as the finest example of Mughal architecture. The chief architect, Isa Khan, designed the complex within a 508-by-304-meter rectangle, featuring a central garden flanked on all four sides by octagonal pavilions. The mausoleum, built entirely of white marble, rises from a marble plinth; a white minaret stands at each of the four corners, reaching a height of 41 meters. The central structure features four smaller domes surrounding a larger central dome. The remains of the royal couple rest in the crypt of this two-story building. While the architectural complex is impressive in its own right, the *pietra dura* decoration—featuring magnificent details such as floral arabesques and semi-relief geometric motifs inlaid with precious stones—makes the structure truly unique.
Departure for Jaipur, the “Pink City,” which owes its nickname to the color of the sandstone used to build the structures in the Old City. The city’s pleasing layout is the work of Maharaja Jai Singh II, who began construction in 1728; he successfully directed his architect, Vidyadhar Chakravarty, to blend diverse styles—including Hindu, Jain, Mughal, and Persian—into a harmonious whole. March 21.Jaipur – Amber – Jaipur
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, departure for Agra, visiting Abhaneri en route . Located about 95 km from Jaipur, Abhaneri is home to one of India’s deepest and most spectacular stepwells: Chand Baori . Built in the 9th century, this well served both to collect water and to provide a cool place to rest during the hot desert months. With more than 3,500 symmetrical steps distributed across 13 levels , it descends about 20 meters to the bottom. Opposite the well is the Temple of Harshat Mata , dedicated to the goddess of joy and happiness.
After the visit, departure for Agra and a visit to the Red Fort , declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. The fort, dating from 1565, is designed as a walled palace surrounded by a deep moat. The fortress, accessed through an imposing gate called Amar Singh, contains numerous palaces and stately buildings constructed by the Mughal emperor Akbar and used by successive Mughal governments as a base of operations for Mughal power. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
March 22.Jaipur
Breakfast at the hotel. The entire day is dedicated to exploring the streets and celebrating with the local people of this magnificent city. The Holi Festival (Festival of Colors): This celebration, marking the end of winter and the arrival of spring, is deeply rooted in the northern part of the country. People gather around bonfires to prepare for the festivities. Throughout the day, organizers on trucks throw brightly colored powders and water onto passersby. Holi holds further cultural significance: it is a day to let go of past mistakes and resolve conflicts by connecting with others—a day for forgetting and forgiving. Accommodation.
March 23.Jaipur / Delhi [255 km, 4.5 hours]
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Delhi; upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and accommodation.
