AEIN- 1 Escape to the Treasures of the Kathmandu Valley
Expert Rating : Asia Escapes
This program is an ” Intensive Cultural Immersion . ” The best thing about this itinerary is that it minimizes long travel times ( common in Nepal due to the terrain ) to maximize time at UNESCO World Heritage sites . Logistics : Excellent . The use of private vehicles and the order of visits optimize traffic flow in Kathmandu , which can be chaotic . Balance : Very good. It combines Buddhist and Hindu spirituality with mountain relaxation . Activity level : Moderate . It requires a fair amount of walking across cobblestone squares and climbing stairs ( especially at Swayambhunath and the temples of Bhaktapur).
