AEI- 003 Regular Departure India Triangle with Kathmandu 9N-10D
Expert Rating: Asia Escapes
“This combined itinerary is a logistical masterpiece . Many travelers make the mistake of visiting only India, but the extension to Nepal adds a spiritual and scenic dimension that perfectly complements the trip.
As experts, we especially value the inclusion of Bhaktapur ; while many tours skip it, we consider it the soul of Nepal. Being a Regular Departure , the traveler benefits from a very solid structure: flights are coordinated to make the most of every hour, and Spanish-speaking guides ensure that the language barrier is not an obstacle in such complex places as the Kathmandu Valley. It is a journey of contrasts: from the monumental intensity of India to the serenity of Nepalese temples. It is, quite simply, the best investment for those seeking cultural diversity in a single trip.”

This mausoleum was commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1631 in honor of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, the Lady of the Taj, who died giving birth to their fourteenth child in 1629. Construction, which involved 20,000 people, was not completed until 1653 and is the most representative example of Mughal architecture. The chief architect, Isa Khan, designed the complex within a rectangle measuring 508 by 304 meters, with a central garden flanked on all four sides by octagonal pavilions. The mausoleum, built entirely of white marble, stands on a marble base with a minaret, also white, at each corner, reaching a height of 41 meters. The central section consists of four small domes surrounding a larger one in the middle. The remains of this couple rest in the crypt of this two-story building. While the architectural ensemble is impressive in itself, the decoration known as pietra dura, with its magnificent details such as floral arabesques and geometric motifs in semi-relief adorned with precious stones, among other elements, makes this structure truly unique. After the visit, we depart for Delhi, arriving and transferring to the hotel. Overnight stay.
